The Princely Fondation du Forum Universale presides over the destiny of the Académie de la Paix (Peace Academy), a Swiss Association established in SION (Valais) Switzerland.
The Fondation du Forum Universale was established in 1989 under the Chair of Mr. Jean-Paul Carteron and the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince A. von und zu Liechtenstein. Associated to the most important and prestigious International Organizations and active worldwide, the Foundation is definitely the reference as far as exclusive and high-level international activities are concerned.
For 23 years Governments have been used to turning to the Fondation du Forum Universale, often at a last stage, when all possibilities for dialogue have been exhausted.
The Académie de la Paix, a very old and respected Institution, is an efficient added-value to the Foundation. In its framework, the most distinguished public figures from around the World can meet and improve their influence in order to progress toward a more humane World.
The Members of the Académie de la Paix strengthen the bonds that unite them and contribute to the advancement of the ideals of Peace, Liberty and International Cooperation since the Académie is at one and the same time :
- a place for meetings and the strengthening of contacts at the highest level
- a centre for reflection, information and exchanges
- a melting pot where each Participant can bring to the others the resources of his knowledge, his experience and his networks.
The Académie de la Paix organises regular sessions of its Academicians and, once a year, a worldwide and enlarged meeting where a number of international personalities and influential decision makers are invited. This exclusive and discrete framework enables the Participants to address some pressing issues at the top of the international agenda. A limited number of Businesses are admitted to these meetings.
Each meeting is organised on a theme of worldwide dimension and crucial interest. In 2008 the Académie de la Paix will be addressing the topic of the World food crisis with regard to the emergence of biofuels and food security.
The Académie de la Paix may confer the dignity of Ambassador for Peace to some selected personalities.
The activities of the Académie de la Paix are managed by a High Committee assisted by the Organization of the Crans Montana Forum.
